The GIANTS headed into the match having won their two previous encounters with the Thunderbirds and after an important victory against Sunshine Coast Lightning last week, they headed into the match as favourites.

The GIANTS won all four quarters in the match, clinching all the possible points on offer in the game.

GIANTS coach Julie Fitzgerald said she was happy with her side's performance last night.

"I think we got off to an excellent start, thought some of our defensive work in the first half of the match was exceptional and to be able to keep them to 16 goals in a half, I'm very pleased with that," she told GIANTS TV.

"Not quite as intense in the second half, we did enough to get the four quarters and that's what we wanted," she added.

Kristina Brice became the 13th player for the GIANTS as she came on in the third quarter for goal shooter Joanne Harten.

She had a 100 percent shooting accuracy scoring all 29 attempts in the second half of the match.
