Dutch forward Vivianne Miedema scored the only goal in the game with a first-half strike.

The Gunners got their revenge on City for the 2014 final where they lost 1-0.

It was the record fifth time Arsenal had won the trophy but hadn't lifted the trophy since 2015.

Speaking to Max Jones from www.arsenal.com after the game English midfielder Jordan Nobbs praised Montemurro for his hard work behind the scenes.

"The last few weeks, we've just been on an uphill climb which has just been phenomenal since Joe came in and I'm so proud of the girls today," she said.

"It's a great feeling to bring silverware back to the club."

Montemurro took over as coach in 2017 after the departure of former coach Pedro Martinez Losa.

Arsenal currently sits in third on the FA WSL 1 behind Chelsea and Manchester City.
