Foord suffered a ruptured Lisfranc ligament in her foot during Sydney FC's semi-final win against Newcastle in February.
The injured Matildas star will be taking on another role while she misses the Asian Cup by joining Fox Sports pre-game and halftime panel during the Matildas Asian Cup games.
"It makes me feel like I'm still in the game and I'll be able to be a part of it still in some way," Foord said.
"It's a different pathway for me but I'm really excited to still be involved with the team and the qualifications," she said.
At the Dream to Dream event hosted by Fox Sports in Canberra earlier this week, Foord said she hopes being on the panel will give viewers a different insight into the game.
"It is a different insight to hear from the player, they are usually the ones out on the field or have been out there," she said.
"They bring a different feel to it and I know for me personally I always like to hear what they have to say.
"For times like this where I'm injured, I'm getting another opportunity to do something to keep the women in the game," Foord said.
All of the Matildas 2018 Asian Cup campaign will be live exclusively on Fox Sports starting with their opening game against South Korea on 8 April at 4am AEDT.
