After rupturing her lisfranc ligament in her foot earlier this year, Caitlin Foord arrived in Portland.
Foord, who suffered the injury while playing for Sydney FC during their semi-final win over Newcastle Jets, has spent the last four months in Australia working on her rehabilitation.
The Portland Thorns forward appeared on the injury list for the club for the first time as well.
Head coach Mark Parsons told The Oregonian the club is hopeful that Foord could be back on the field in three to five weeks.
"It's good that she's here," Parsons said.
"She has put in a lot of important, great work to get here this early," he said.
