The Matildas have gone down 3-2 to world No 39 Chile at Panthers Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Matildas became rattled after the second goal which saw Alen Stajcic make two substitutions. Alanna Kennedy came on as defensive reinforcement while Gorry came on as another playmaker and attacking option.
There was desperation from Australia late in the second half with a goal box scramble to try level the game, but it just wasn't going in.
The home side continued to have plenty of chances but it was Chile who sealed the win as Yesenia Huento added a third.
The Matildas were able to draw a goal back after Kerr was brought down in the box and van Egmond converted but as soon as the restart came, the whistle was blown.

While there were a number of players who stood out, it was Christiane Endler who proved to be the difference between the two sides.
The 27-year-old PSG goalkeeper kept the Matildas at bay throughout the match and ensured Chile got a remarkable victory against a nation ranked No 6 in the world.
Australia and Chile have one more game in the series which will take place in Newcastle on Tuesday.
