Fiorentina have boasted some of the greatest names to ever play the game, but they're not going to know what hit them...
Matildas living-legend Lisa De Vanna has signed for Serie A Femminile club Fiorentina for the 2019/20 season, becoming one of the slowly growing contingent of Matildas to look to Europe, rather than the NWSL.
De Vanna, 34, will be hoping the move keeps her firmly within the Matildas fold as she looks to go one better than Cheryl Salisbury's 151 caps and break the all time record. She's currently sitting on 150.
Given Italy's surprisingly electric performances at the 2019 World Cup and Europe's growing league influence across the women's game, both De Vanna's decision to join la Viola and Fiorentina's decision to recruit De Vanna speak to a growing ambition within Italian women's football.
Fiorentina narrowly missed out on the Scudetto last season but won it in 2016/17.
