Alex Chidiac is settling into life in Spain with ease.
The Aussie starlet has officially opened her account for Atletico Madrid in just the second game of the season, and her first start.
Chidiac started on the left wing and worked her way into the game eventually netting Atletico’s final goal in the 70th minute as they thrashed Logrono 6-0.
The young Aussie was on the end of some fantastic build up play.
Striker Esther Gonzalez dropped back and created some link up play with her midfield players who then returned the ball to Gonzalez. She then played an insightful ball out wide to the overlapping Rosa who in turn cut it back behind the stretched defence to an open Chidiac who scored a simple tap-in from three yards.
Chidiac is out to make an impression after joining Atletico over the off season. The club currently sits atop of the league with a healthy goal difference of +10 after two games.
The 19-year-old will be seeking solid game time, especially in the UEFA Women’s Champions league, when they take on Manchester City FC on Thursday, September 27. The Aussie was an unused substitute in their last Champions League clash.
Fans of the Matildas will be hoping that the midfield dynamo continues to get into good positions and gets some experience in big matches leading into a huge World Cup year where the hopes of the nation will be squarely behind them.
