PFA throws weight behind FFA candidates
Players union, Professional Footballers Australia, has thrown its weight behind the bids to elect former Socceroo Craig Foster and football pioneer Heather Reid to the new FFA board.
The elections will be the first held under the reformed constitution which now gives the PFA a say in the way the game is governed in Australia.
Former Soccer Australia chairman Remo Nogarotto and Judith Griggs – who compiled the crucial report into the FFA's structure for FIFA – are also among those nominated for spots on the board.
The meeting ushers in a new era off governance after FFA chairman and fierce critic of the constitutional changes,Steven Lowy, confirmed he would be standing down.
