Corsie, 29, will take the captaincy reigns at Canberra United and lead Heather Garriock’s side on the pitch during Season 11.

“It is a huge honour to have signed for Canberra United and I am really excited to be a part of this organisation,” Corsie said.

“I have followed the club over recent seasons and I am privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of the team.”

It's been a big year for Corsie, having secured qualification to the Women’s World Cup as captain of the Scotland team and anchored the backline for the Royals, the newest NWSL franchise.

“This year has been extremely exciting for me,” she said.

“With the World Cup to now look forward to next Summer, I would love for the success to
continue into the upcoming season with Canberra United.

"This is a league I have wanted to play in for a long time and I am extremely happy to be coming to Canberra to experience it."

Corsie will be a key cog in the Canberra United setup this year and Garriock said her experience at the highest level will be important within the squad.

“Rachel has already proven herself on the biggest stages and to have her here at Canberra
United is just fantastic,” Garriock said.

“She has demonstrated her ability in training already and I can’t wait to see her out on the pitch when the season starts.

“I was drawn to Rachel’s leadership quality and her winning mentality, and those are both
attributes that will be instrumental to a successful season this time around.”

The 2018/19 Westfield W-League season is set to begin in late October.
