Brisbane Roar won the race for the W-League Premiers Plate on Sunday after romping past Canberra United 4-1 at Suncorp Stadium.
Roar only needed a draw to hold off a fast-finishing Sydney FC, who coincidentally also finished their regular season with a 4-1 win. That came at the expense of derby rivals Western Sydney Wanderers at Seymour Shaw on Sunday afternoon.
It is the third time Roar have won the plate.
Both teams are in ominous form as they head into the finals with Newcastle Jets and Melbourne City making up the top four.
The Sky Blues will take on the Jets next Saturday at Leichhardt Oval followed by the Brisbane v City clash at Perry Park on Sunday.
