Atletico Madrid have lifted their third consecutive Primera Division Femenina championship after a 3-1 win over Sociedad overnight.
It was a must win game on the final matchday of the season with all teams kicking off at 1pm CET.
Barcelona was right on Atletico's tail, just a win behind them with a superior goal difference, meaning the title could slip from their fingers.
However, in the end, Barcelona would go on to end their season with a 1-0 loss to fourth-placed UD Granadilla Tenerife.
Spanish international Esther González finished her hat-trick to put the game beyond doubt in the 67th minute.

Matildas midfielder Alex Chidiac didn't take part in the game.
Atletico coach José Sánchez Vera told media after the match that the key to winning the title in his first year was to have a good environment.
"...to have very good players, to have good people in the locker room and the desire they have to keep winning. They have shown it again. They are very heavy'," he said.
"Now that we have just won the League, they are already thinking about the final of the Copa de la Reina next Saturday.
"They know that the season is not over and this has just started."
Atletico will face Sociedad once again on May 12 in the Cup final where the newly crowned league champions will be looking for their first Copa de la Reina title since 2016.
The side has made the final for the last three years but in both 2017 and 2018 Barcelona won the title.
