It was under a year ago Central Coast Mariners application to re-enter the W-League was delayed but the club is set to re-apply for the 2018/19 season.
Central Coast Mariners CEO Shaun Mielekamp has confirmed the club will apply for the 2018/19 season.
“We’re working hard to line up the pieces for our W-League team,” Mielekamp told the Express Advocate.
“This time 12 months ago we were told our submission was postponed for a year so the time has rolled around for us to open up that discussion with the FFA again.
“It’s fantastic that Central Coast Council has committed to their promise and are improving the facilities at the stadium and that ticks the box of one of the major objections the FFA had last time.
“There should be nothing standing in our way at this stage.”
In a statement from FFA to the Mariners, several issues were outlined to be resolved including a requirement for adequate change room facilities at Central Coast Stadium for double headers.
The club now believes they have now worked out the kinks with work currently underway at Central Coast Stadium to improve facilities.
