Dual Sydney FC and GWS Giants star Ellie Brush has announced she won't be appearing in the AFLW as she seeks a spot for the Matildas in the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.
Brush is set to star for Sydney FC in their upcoming W-League campaign as one of the 16 players signed by the club for the upcoming season.
The experienced Dub defender has made two appearances for the Matildas since her debut in 2009 and wants a spot on the plane to Tokyo in 2021.
"I’d like to pay tribute to Ellie, who was a breakout star of our first few seasons in the AFLW," Giants head of AFLW Briana Harvey said.Â
"She’s achieved an enormous amount in her elite sporting career across two codes and we wish her only the best in her next sporting pursuit."
