Sam Kerr has been snubbed once again by FIFA, this time failing to win a spot in the FIFPRO Team XI awards.
For the first time Kerr had been named on the 55-woman shortlist, leading many to believe given her prolific season at domestic and international level, that the Australian captain would make a debut appearance.
But Kerr was once again left off the final list of 11, despite the allocation of three forwards.
Instead, Brazillian Marta, who scored three less goals than Kerr at the World Cup and has scored less than one-third as many goals in the NWSL this season, was given a place.
The comments section on FIFA's posts were dominated by Kerr fans signalling their indignation at yet another Kerr snub by the governing body, who have repeatedly failed to acknowledge the Aussie's exploits.
Sam Kerr not being on this list honestly might be a criminal offence. send tweet. https://t.co/6leWpkzgAT
