Jets fire up season
Newcastle Jets have got their Westfield W-League campaign back on track with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Adelaide United in an entertaining Round 5 match at Wanderers Oval, Newcastle.
Round 5 Preview
With several teams missing their big names, Round 5 is set up to be a big one as many of the top sides face off against one another. Perth will be looking to avenge last year's devastating loss to Sydney, Melbourne will be searching for their third on the trott to advance ahead of Canberra while Brisbane is back home to meet the Wanderers and Newcastle and Adelaide will be hoping to add to their season tallies.

Round 4 of the W-League has some intriguing clashes as the season table starts to take shape. The round also sees Australia's first look at a contingent of European players and returning Australian stars.

Melbourne Victory picked up their first points of the season, edging out Newcastle Jets 1-0 in an entertaining Westfield W-League clash at Simonds Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Returning Newcastle Jets coach Wayne O'Sullivan has been busy in the off-season with the Jets quickly and quietly acquiring the services of American trio Angela Salem, Tori Huster and Tiffany Boshers for the upcoming 2012/13 season of the W-League.

In front of a Newcastle Jets' Westfield W-League record crowd last weekend, the Hunter club kicked off their 2011/12 campaign in style with an impressive 3 – 0 win over Adelaide United. Amongst the goals was rejuvenated striker Lisa De Vanna who scored a brace.
