Another South Australian is heading home with cross-coder Jenna McCormick heads down south for the 2017/18 W-League season on a one-year deal with Adelaide United.
The one-time Premier is back with her hometown club this season, after spending the past two years with Canberra United, and overseas during the W-League off seasons with Iceland’s UMF Stjarnan and Norwegian club Medkila.
“I’m super excited to be coming back home to Adelaide United and to play in red again,” said McCormick.
“It's great for me to be in my home environment around my family after being overseas for some time.”
The 23-year-old South Australian has been in great form and played crucial parts in UMF Stjarnan securing the 2016 Icelandic Úrvalsdeild League title, Canberra United winning the 2016/17 Premiership, and even the inaugural AFLW Premiership in 2017 when she played for the Adelaide Crows.

McCormick will be key to Ivan Karlovic’s side, as the head coach continues to bolster up a squad that is hungry to reach the finals for the first time.
“Jenna is a talented footballer, which we’ve seen over the last few years through her experience playing both locally and abroad,” praised Karlovic.
“She’s a leader and a competitor and we’re hoping Jenna can use her experience to help improve our squad.”
Adelaide United starts their season against long-time rivals Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday, November 3.
