Captain’s Blog: Sam Kerr

It’s been a roller coaster season.

After last year’s disappointment we came into pre-season not knowing where our season would go.

You always want to be a top team but whether that is within reach you don’t know. As a team we knew our standards had to be higher than in previous years. We got together as a team and set our standards and goals for the season as a team.

The rest is history.

Game time , let's gooo ??????? #Glory #is #ours

This weekend we will hit our final goal, reaching that grand final. I know we have done everything in our ability to ensure we will compete to the best of our ability this weekend.

Every single girl has put their heart and soul into this team.

This has been truly a team effort.  We have had the most amazing support from the start.

A thank you to our owner Tony Sage and CEO Peter Filopoulos for investing in us and making us feel apart of the Perth Glory family.  To our physio, Narvan, for keeping every single girl on the park this season and going above and beyond to do anything for anyone, even if it meant dealing with women’s issues.

A thank you to our amazing coaching staff, Andy, Jessine and of course Bobby! For the time they have dedicated to us this season.  We will forever be in debt to you. It’s been great representing this club but most importantly representing the three of you every time we step onto the field each week.

To all our members and fans we can’t thank you enough for your support each week.  So thank you!

Lastly, I would like to say thank you personally to my team.

“It has been an absolute honour to lead this team out every week. Being a captain had never appealed to me, but after this year I understand why it is such a privilege.”

We have so many leaders with in this team and I have learnt so much from all of you. You have helped me grow as a person. No matter the result this weekend I am proud of every single person.

Game Day! Nothing better then playing in a semi final! Proud to be apart of this team, let's gooooo ?
