Perth Glory have signed midfielders Alyssa Mautz (Chicago Redstars) and Mexican international Arianna Romero for Season 9 of the W-League.

The duo join Sky Blue FC midfielder Nikki Stanton as the Glory's international contingent for 2016, with negotiations with last year's MGP Vanessa DiBernardo ongoing.

"I've been looking to increase my experience internationally," Mautz said.

"Perth Glory is a great fit to achieve that. I'm excited to play a part in the upcoming W-League season and I'm really looking forward to it."

The former U20’s Women’s World Cup champion has lined up for this year's NWSL semi finalists for over 70 matches and is set to be a cornerstone of the remodeled Glory midfield.

“Alyssa has great experience at a very high level,” said head coach Bobby Despotovski.

“She can hold the ball up in midfield, dictate the tempo and then launch attacks in an instant.”

Meanwhile Glory has added to their defensive stocks with the signing of 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup player Arianna Romero.  Signing on from Icelandic club ÍBV, the 24 year old will be one of several changes to the Glory backline who have already lost the services of goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold.

Romero becomes the second Mexican international to pull on a W-League jersey following Canberra United's signing of national teammate Veronica Perez.

“Arianna is a very mature player for her age,” he revealed.

“Since winning the ‘Big Ten’ Defender of the Year in 2013 during college, she has gone from strength to strength and will bring great technical ability to the defence,” the coach added.

Mautz and Romero join Glory following the re-signing of attackers Rosie Sutton, Nikki Stanton and WA’s own Samantha Kerr and will fly in ahead later this month for pre-season.

Glory kick off their campaign in a double header at nib stadium on 6 November 2016 against the Western Sydney Wanderers.
