Melbourne City forward Marianna Tabain has been voted Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) W-League Player of the Month for October.

The award is recognition for Tabain's sensational form in the opening month of the W-League with the 22-year-old key in City's unbeaten start to the season.

“I’m really proud to have been voted as the PFA W-League Player of the Month,” said Tabain.

“Being voted by the players makes the award very special. It has been a great start to the season for us and we are determined to keep it going. ”

The pacy winger was acknowledged by her fellow players for her 3 goals, 4 assists and earned penalty in the month of October.

Tabain continued her scoring streak on the weekend with her fourth goal in four matches to sit second on the Golden Boot table.

“I would like to thank my teammates, who have been brilliant to play with, and everyone at the club for their support.”

Tabain won vote of W-League players ahead of Brisbane Roar's Tameka Butt and Sydney FC duo Leena Khamis and Teresa Polias.

PFA Chief Executive Adam Vivian paid tribute to Tabain.

“Marianna has been outstanding in the opening rounds of the season and thoroughly deserves this recognition,” said Vivian.

“I would like to congratulate all the nominees, who have contributed to what has been a fantastic start to the W-League season.

The PFA Player of the Month nominees are provided by a panel of women's football writers and commentators with the W-League players voting on the final four nominees.
