A mix of new and returning names have been added to the Adelaide United squad ahead of the W-League opening weekend.
Young Matildas midfielder Emily Condon has returned for a third season while former Reds players Alex Gummer, Georgia Campagnale and Lorena Maggio return to the South Australian outfit and Queensland trio Chantelle Ryder, Allira Toby and Rosie Sutton suit up for the Reds for the first time.
With the key off-season departures, the fast developing Condon is set for a larger in Jamie Harnwell's team. The goalscoring midfielder will be looked upon to take another step up as Adelaide look to re-build from last season.
Victorian Alex Gummer returns after a season with the Melbourne Victory. Lining up for seven matches in the 2013/14 season, the 23-year-old will look to fill one of the vacant full back positions available.
Midfielder Lorena Maggio played 5 matches for the Reds in the 2012/13 season before spending some time overseas with the New York Magic in the USL W-League.
Meanwhile South Australian Georgia Campagnale is back for a second straight season with the Reds after debuting in Season 7.
Looking for goals, Harnwell has reached out to former Perth Glory striker Rosie Sutton. In her two seasons with Harnwell Sutton produced 10 goals in 22 matches including a memorable hattrick in Season 6.
Sutton's fellow Queenslanders and forwards Chantelle Ryder and Allira Toby will be looking for their first matches and goals at W-League level after strong seasons in the Brisbane local league.
In terms of internationals, Sarah Killion has been signed on loan from NWSL side Sky Blue FC.
A stand out in the US College system, the 23 year old was selected second overall in the 2015 NWSL College Draft.
At representative level, the creative midfielder was a key part of the United States U20 Women's World Cup winning side in 2012.
“We are happy to see Sarah take another step in her development by joining Adelaide United,” said Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra.
“The Australian League has always been a good fit for our league here in the United States. In addition to its high level of play, it fits well with our offseason window in that players can gain additional game experience but also have enough time in between for recovery and regeneration.”
Adelaide United will commence their season at home on 17 October 2015 against the Western Sydney Wanderers.
