Australia rounded out their home World Cup preparations with a comprehensive 11-0 win over Vietnam at Jubilee Oval, NSW.

4277 spectators were on hand for the farewell match despite the constant rain and the Matildas turned on a display of attacking football.

Canberra United striker Michelle Heyman scored an 18 minute first half hat-trick as Australia put the match out of doubt with 8 goals in the opening 45 minutes.

Co-captain Lisa De Vanna and the returning Sam Kerr finished with a brace each as part of seven different goal scorers on the night.

From the opening to the closing whistle, the home side were in complete control with De Vanna setting up Katrina Gorry for the opener.

Heyman notched up her first goal of the evening five minutes later with Australia piling on five goals in the space of seven minutes.

Defender Laura Alleway headed in Servet Uzunlar’s corner, De Vanna tapped in her first, Kerr completed a sweeping move before Heyman  made it 6-0.

Another Uzunlar corner was the route for Emily van Egmond’s goal midway through the half before Heyman completed her hat-trick on the half-hour mark.

Australia's dominance continued early in the second half as Kerr grabbed her second with a rasping finish from a slide rule van Egmond through ball.

Substitute Kyah Simon set up De Vanna for her second thanks to a well weighted through ball with substitutes Ashleigh Sykes and Caitlin Foord combining late to complete the World Cup tune up.

For Michelle Heyman, the win was a personal and team confidence booster.

“It’s always nice to finish the chances that I create and a few of them were just tap ins but that’s one thing I’ve been working on is just trying to follow up and make sure I’m always in the box and in the right place at the right time, so I was pretty happy with my execution today,” said Heyman.

“It was a great feeling to have a home match in front of our families, friends and fans, and just to see the support we have here in Australia is a great feeling.”

While for Stajcic, who has been requesting better execution from his players since the Cyprus Cup, it was pleasing to see that occur on the night, although tougher tests are yet to come.

“The first 25 minutes was very good and very clinical, something we haven’t been in the past so that was really good to see that in a match,” said Stajcic.

“Considering we played this team 12 months ago and only beat them 2-0, I think it shows how far we’ve come and certainly we lost a bit of shape and structure after that seventh goal which I guess happens, but I was more concerned with the processes rather than the result at the end of the day.

“There was a lot of good stuff but for us to be a world class team we need to be consistent throughout 90 minutes and I thought we waned a little bit as the second half wore on.

"Even though the goalkeeper let in a couple, for us to prey on their errors, and to see stuff that we talk about executed in a game was really pleasing."

The match signifies the end of the Matildas Australian preparations with the team heading to Vancouver on Saturday for a two week training period.

Australia kicks off their World Cup campaign against the United States on June 8.
