The Australian U16s defeated Hong Kong 10-0 in their second match of the AFC U16 Championship qualifiers at the Stadium Hang Tuah in Melaka, Malaysia.

Striker Ashlee Brodigan led the goal spree with four goals in a Player of the Match performance with Eliza Ammendolia's hattrick, Joey Cartwright's brace and defender Hannah Bourke's header rounding out the scoring.

The win propelled Australia to the top of Group C with goal difference separating the Mini Matildas from their next opponents Korea Republic.  The victory also means a draw or win will see Australia advance to the 2015 AFC U16 Championships in China.

"The girls were really good," said head coach Ante Juric of the performance.

"Second games can be tougher, especially as we made so many changes but the girls responded really well to the task."

As with their encounter with Vietnam, Australia exploded out of the blocks and were rewarded with an eighth minute goal from Joey Cartwright.

Less than ten minutes later the Mini Matildas again found the back of the net with defender Hannah Bourke rising high from a corner to head home and double the advantage.

With Hong Kong sitting deeper in their own half, Australia were unable to find a way through for the rest of the first half.

After the break, the floodgates opened as the Mini Matildas turned up the pressure.

NSW Country midfielder Eliza Ammendolia netted the first of her hattrick just a minute after the restart with Brodigan picking her way through the defence for her first of four in the 52 minute.  Three minutes later Emerging Jet Brodigan had her brace with  Ammendolia netting her second in the 67th minute.

Hong Kong held firm before conceeding late flurry of goals, with Brodigan notching up her hattrick in the 83rd minute and her fourth goal just a minute later.

Australia continued to light up the scoreboard with Cartwright earning her brace in the 86th minute and Ammendolia her hattrick with the final kick of the game.

"In an important game for us, the girls really stepped up and rather than take things for granted, they did the job for us."

"There are two or three that have really put their hand up for the next game and now it is just a matter of recovery and hopefully they can be involved."

The Mini Matildas next take on second placed Korea Republic on Wednesday night with the claiming the sole berth in next year's tournament.
