More good news for Melbourne Victory captain Stephanie Catley with the full back confirmed as the latest signing for the defending NWSL champions the Portland Thorns.
Catley, who earlier this month hinted at a move overseas, will join pending the receipt of a P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
The 20 year old is the Thorns second W-League signing after Thorns announced the acquisition of 2013 FIFA World Player of the Year Nadine Angerer in January.
“Steph will be a massive addition to our squad,” said Thorns FC head coach Paul Riley.
“She will bring added speed to our back line and has the ability to go end line to end line."
"She can provide width on the field and has great delivery and provides a physical presence. She is a fantastic signing for the club and her international experience will be extremely valuable in our quest for the title.”
For Catley it continues her rapid ascent in the past two years which included her Matildas debut, twice being awarded the FFA U20 Player of the Year, 50 W-League games and now a second W-League grand final appearance.
Very excited to be heading over to the US later this year to join @ThornsFC ???? cannot wait to get started!

The Matildas, who are not participating in the Grand Final, head into camp on Thursday ahead of next month's Cyprus Cup.
As with Sam Kerr, Lisa De Vanna and Caitlin Foord, it not yet clear when Catley will be reporting to the Thorns with Football Australia still in discussions with the NWSL clubs.
As The Women's Game understands it, the Sky Blue FC, Western New York Flash and Portland are anticipating return after the Cyprus Cup before being released for the Asian Cup.
The same situation is currently being played out with Japan National Team players signed last month.
Catley and the Melbourne Victory contest the W-League Grand Final against the Brisbane Roar on Sunday, 23 February 2014.
