sydneyfc-mobcast-cupDefending W-League champions Sydney FC are set to represent Australia at the Mobcast Cup in Japan from 29 November to 8 December 2013.

The second such addition of the tournament, the Mobcast Cup will see Sydney FC come up against UEFA Champions League winners VfL Wolfsburg (Germany), Japanese Cup and League winners and South American side Colo Colo.

An initiative of the Japanese Football Association, the Mobcast Cup has aspirations of building into a women's version of the Club World Cup with European powerhouse Lyon claiming the first title in 2012.

Sydney FC becomes the second Australian side to participate in the competition following on from Canberra United last year.

The Sky Blues, who are looking to make history in defending their title, have commenced their pre-season training and lined up a number friendlies against sides from the NSW Premier League.
