An experienced campaigner, Barbieri has played four seasons in the W-League with the Melbourne Victory and the Newcastle Jets and was named the Goalkeeper of the Year in the inaugural season.

FFSA CEO Michael Carter is pleased with the first big signing for the Lady Reds.

“Melissa will be a major asset to the team as a player and as a leader for the girls. Her experience combined with Ross’ will greatly benefit the squad.”

Adelaide United will be looking to build on last season's results when the W-League kicks off on Saturday November 9.
